In accordance with Constitution Law 26 the following additions to the E.B.A. Laws shall apply to the relevant Club Competitions:-

1.      All competition draws are displayed on the notice board in the Club House.

Each round has a limit date which will only be extended in exceptional circumstances.
Competition games should be played as soon as possible and not left until the limit date is imminent.
Any request for extension must be made to the Committee Member appointed as ‘Chaser’ for the particular competition.
If a Game is not played by the limit date, and no arrangement has been made with the Chaser,
the person who is unable to play shall be withdrawn from the Competition.

2.      Two trial ends shall be played in all competitions if requested by either party

3.      The first named in each pairing (The Challenger) is responsible for making arrangements for the game:  date, booking of the rink, and in singles, provision of a marker. (It is not good enough to rely on anyone that happens to be at the Green or the Green Ranger of the day to be a marker). (PLEASE READ ATTTACHED DUTIES OF THE MARKER.)   If provision has not been made 7 days before the limit date then the second named player shall take responsibility for the arrangements

It is hoped that both parties will make quick contact with each other to make amicable arrangements for the game rather than implement this rule.

4.         All singles competitions (except as provided for in Rules 6, 7, & 8) shall be played to 21 shots

5.         NEW RULE for Handicap Tournament will be scored as per updated example

            Player ‘A’ Handicap 9:  Player ‘B’ Handicap 5 = Difference 4.
Both players start with 0 score. A minimum of 21 shots will have to be scored, therefore, player 'B' can win at 21 shots but player
‘A’ will have to score a minimum of 25 (21 + 4) to win the game.

6.         Two Wood Competition

  1. Only shots within 1 metre of the Jack shall qualify to score.  If there is no qualifying shot the player whose Bowl is nearest the Jack shall cast the Jack on the next end.

    1. The Marker must not use the metrestick to measure until all four Woods have been delivered.
    2. When measuring with the metrestick it shall be used between the nearest surfaces of the Wood and Jack - not at ground level.
    3. The game shall be played over 15 ends in the early rounds.  The winner shall be the player scoring the most shots.  If the shots score is equal extra ends shall be played until the completion of the end when a legitimate shot is scored. In the Semi-Finals and Final 18 ends shall be played. If equality exists further ends shall be played, as detailed above, to determine the winner.

7.         John Cawood Memorial Competition.

            (a) The game shall be played over the best of three sets to 7 shots

(b)To start the second set the Jack shall be cast by the player who did not have the privilege                           in the first set.

            (c) If a third set is necessary, toss a coin to determine who casts the Jack.

a)      The Game shall be played to 101 points

b)      In each end the Wood nearest the Jack scores 4 points, the second wood scores 3 points, the third wood scores 2 points and the fourth wood 1 point  (A total of 10 points shared between competitors.)

Notes: The marker should record the 4,3,2,1, points on the scorecard as appropriate in the left hand column of each player’s score.

At the completion of each end the total points scored by the players should add to a number divisible by 10.

c)      The mat for the next end shall be taken by the player scoring the most points on the previous end. (Law Change see rule 19E.option to give mat away) In the event of a 5-5 tie the mat shall be taken by the player who was nearest to the Jack.

d)      The winner shall be the first player to reach 101 points after completion of an end.  If both players pass the target at the completion of the same end the player scoring the most points shall be the winner.  If the points are still equal, ends shall be played until one player records a winning score.

9.                  Jack Bell  (Novices Rules Apply) meaning if the member has won any club competitions (excluding pairs) he/she will NOT be able to enter this competition. Played to 21 shots as other singles competitions.
